I am a practicing physician with more than thirty years of medical experience. Early in my career I was on the conventional surgical training pathway. I left it, because prevention and metabolic health interested me more than procedures did.
Weight loss, brain energy, and metabolic medicine turned out to be the work I wanted. So I moved into research and metabolic medicine and spent years on therapeutic ketosis, brain energy metabolism, and nutritional intervention. I have watched patients in their nineties regain cognitive function. I have watched high performers get their edge back. I have also watched people fail, repeatedly, for reasons that had nothing to do with willpower.
Then my own fasting glucose crossed into diabetic territory while I was treating other people for the same thing.
Since 2022 I have started therapeutic ketosis twenty-three times and failed twenty-three times. My longest logged run was forty-five days. On June 17, 2026 I started again — and this time I am posting my blood ketone number every day, in public, until December 13. The good days and the crashes. Before I began, I scored ninety-nine of my own symptoms so the comparison could not be rewritten by memory afterwards.
That is the short version of why this site exists. Not to sell a transformation, but to show one being attempted at full transparency, by a physician who is the patient.
Every article on this site is written and reviewed by me. These are the rules I hold it to.
